Archived: Two Arrested in Alleged Car Thefts
Two young men from Clear Lake were arrested after a series of car break-ins in Foley Sunday morning. It happened at about 1:15 am. The Benton County Sheriff’s Department says 20-year-old Jeremie Johnson and a 17-year-old boy were seen trying to break into locked cars. When a witness approached the two, officials say they ran away. After a brief search, deputies found the 17-year-old hiding in some bushes. He was arrested. A couple hours later, officers found and arrested Johnson. During the search, the sheriff’s department received calls of burglarized vehicles in the Foley area. Police found stolen items near the scene and also in the suspects’ car. The two face charges of theft.
