Archived: Local Student Appointed to MnSCU Board
Governor Tim Pawlenty has appointed a local student to a prestigious state board. Clearwater resident Alfredo Oliveria, a student at St. Cloud Technical and Community College is now a member of the Minnesota State College and Universities Board of Trustees. Oliveria served as president of the St. Cloud Technical College Student Senate from 2009 to 2012. He replaces Terri Thomas on the MnSCU board as the technical college student member, and will serve a two year term that expires in June of 2010. During that time, Governor Pawlenty says the MnSCU board will be responsible for managing a budget with shrinking resources, and modify the state’s higher education system to reflect a rapidly-changing workforce.
