Archived: Caramel Roll Ride this Weekend
The average adult burns 360 calories from biking 10 miles in one hour. That’s the same number of calories in one freshly-baked caramel roll. This Saturday, folks from central Minnesota can enjoy both of these things in the 11th Annual Caramel Roll Ride. It will start on the Lake Wobegon Trail in Albany.
Riders can check in any time between 8:00 and 10:00 am at the Albany Trailhead shelter near City Hall. From there, riders can go in three directions. They can head west to Freeport or Melrose, north to Holdingford, Bowlus or the Mississippi river, or east to Avon, Collegeville or St. Joseph. World famous caramel rolls and juice will be served at pit stops along the trail. Registration is $25 dollars for adults and $15 dollars for children. All money raised goes to the Lake Wobegon Trails Association to promote the trail and for landscaping enhancements along the trail.
