Archived: Car Show and Cook-off for Brain Cancer this Weekend
The third annual “Kick off to Summer Car Show and Cook-off” will take place this Friday and Saturday at Sauk River Park in Melrose. All money raised at the event will go toward brain cancer research and improving quality of life for people with brain tumors.
Starting at 6 pm Friday, activities will include a car cruise, live music, various food stands and fireworks at dusk. Saturday’s events include the car show, a turkey and ribs cook-off, silent auction, food stands and kid’s activities.
The event was established in honor of Ralph Hellerman of Melrose who lost his battle with brain cancer in 2007.
