After a string of possible financial scams, the St. Cloud Police Department asking the public to beware. During the past week, police say there have been at least three incidents. Some St. Cloud residents have received mailings stating that they have won a large sum of money and should return a form with their signature and address in order to be eligible for the prize. Other residents have received phone calls stating that a bank account has been set up in their name to help them pay their bills or that their bank account has been compromised and are requesting new passwords.

It is believed the calls and mailings are coming from other states or countries. Police are asking people to be cautious in giving any financial or personal information over the phone or in return mailings.
