Archived: Woman Arrested in Son’s Death
A 31 year old St. Cloud woman has been arrested and is facing charges of killing her toddler son. Nayachuol Lungdicok Poch is being held in the Stearns County Jail.
The police report released Friday says St. Cloud police were originally called to a home at 1538 6th Avenue South last Monday shortly after 2:00p.m. for a medical emergency involving a child. An unresponsive 22 month old boy was found at the apartment. The emergency responders were unable to resusitate the toddler and he was declared dead a short time later at the St. Cloud Hospital.
On Friday afternoon, police arrested and Poch in the alleged death of her son. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s office conducted an autopsy and determined the cause of the boy’s death was from injuries sustained from blunt force trauma.
The Stearns County Attorney’s office is expected to prosecute and formally charge Pock Monday.
The homicide is still being investigated by the Criminal Investigations Unit.
