The SCSU Volunteer Connection and United Way of Central Minnesota are gathering volunteers to help sandbagging efforts in the Red River Valley. On Friday, the organizations will take two busses of volunteers to the area. Around 100 people are needed, and 92 spots are still available. Those interested in volunteering should register on the United Way website and report to the Gorecki Center on the College of St. Benedict campus by no later than 5:45 am. Friday. Buses will depart at 6 am and return later that night. Those helping should bring gloves, rubber boots as well as money for food.
