St. Cloud State has selected a new equity and affirmative action officer. Ellyn Bartges will start at SCSU on January 5th. She’s currently serving as the assistant equal employment opportunity officer at Western Illinois University.

At St. Cloud State, she will handle the hiring of faculty and staff, harassment and discrimination complaints, as well as disability accommodation. The Iowa-native says, once on campus, one of her first priorities will be to gain the trust of students, faculty and staff.

Bartges doesn’t have any ties to St. Cloud, but as a kid she visited central Minnesota a handful of times for family fishing trips.
