A 14-year-old Melrose boy is hurt after getting hit by a slug while deer hunting this weekend. It happened on Saturday about one mile north of the city of Spring Hill. The Stearns County Sheriff’s Department says the boy was hunting with his father and 12 other men. At around noon, the hunting party flushed out a deer and four men fired their guns. The Sheriff’s Department says one of the slugs hit the boy in the left leg. The boy was brought to the hospital. The boy was brought to the hospital and was released the next day.
