SCSU received a scare on Saturday when their captain, senior forward Drew LeBlanc broke his left leg after sliding feet-first into the back wall in his defensive end late in the second period. LeBlanc was taken off the ice on a stretcher with a serious lower-leg injury.

As LeBlanc was hoisted on to the gurney, the crowd chanted his name. LeBlanc gave the crowd a thumbs-up, which resulted in a rousing ovation from the National Hockey Center faithful.

According to an interview with head coach Bob Motzko in the St. Cloud Times, LeBlanc’s injury was “a clean break with no ligament damage and no joint damage.” Motzko also added there is no timeframe with the injury.

LeBlanc leads the Huskies with 12 points on the season and has 97 points in his career.
