Just one week after defeating defending division-two champion Minnesota-Duluth, the sixth-ranked  SCSU football team was stunned by Bemidji Saturday, falling 19-14 in an NSIC road contest.

The Huskies scored on their first offensive possession after recovering a Beaver fumble, but did not score again in the first half. In three subsequent first half possessions, Phil Klaphake threw an interception, running back Michael Walker lost a fumble reaching for the goal-line and Matt Compton punted.

While the Huskies prolific offense sputtered, BSU scored nineteen unanswered points on their way to victory.

The loss severely damages St. Cloud’s hopes of hosting round one of the NSIC playoffs. Next on the schedule for the Huskies is MSU-Moorhead on Saturday at Husky Stadium. KVSC will have live coverage of the game, with pregame analysis beginning at 12:40.
