Stearns County Deputies responded to a car in the ditch on the north end of Lower Spunk Lake last Sunday night.

The car had been traveling south on County Road 9 near Spunk Creek when the driver left the road and rolled into the ditch. It was partially submerged about one foot into the water, however there was no concern that the driver or the passenger could have drowned.

Both were taken to the St. Cloud Hospital for any potential injuries, but, before the driver was taken, police spoke to the driver who admitted to drinking as well as being on drugs. The driver continued to experience hallucinations at the hospital.

Police obtained a search warrant and gathered a blood sample from the driver and are awaiting results.
