St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis has announced the Grand Marshall for the Granite City Days Parade this Saturday.

Kleis announced that the American Legion Wallace S. Chute Post #76 led by Curt Hutchens, a U.S. Navy Veteran, will be the Grand Marshall for the 2019 parade. American Legion Wallace S. Chute Post #76 is 100 years old this year. The post is named after Wallace S. Chute who was the first St. Cloud resident killed in WWI.

Commander Hutchens is very active in several Veterans’ organizations and is a retired St. Cloud Public School teacher of 37 years and is a former Teacher of the Year and Minnesota Teacher of Excellence award winner.

The Granite City Days Parade festival kicks off tomorrow/today (Thursday). The Parade on Saturday begins at 10 a.m.
