Elk River Man Admits To Throwing Screws on Area Roads

Jeffrey Scot Caouette

An Elk River man was arrested Monday after admitting to throwing screws on Sherburne Country roads for the last two months.

Sixty-three-year-old Jeffrey Scot Caouette was seen driving a vehicle through a park that matched a photo posted by Big Lake police.

Caouette admitted to having screws in the vehicle after a Sherburne County deputy stopped the vehicle in Zimmerman.

Big Lake Police have received as many as 150 reports of tires being damaged by screws and investigators are looking into those reports.

Caouette is in jail while still awaiting formal charges and a first court appearance.
