New Spins on Your Sound Alternative

What’s cool in our new music on KVSC? Everything…but here are a couple to check out:

Dirty Mercury – Violet Light: Sophomore album from these local champs. Follow up to their 2014 debut “Sound of Mind”. They have a unique way of bringing 90’s alternative feeling into the modern day.

Black Marble – It’s Immaterial: Sophomore release from LA based synth-wave artist Chris Stewart. He melds together 70’s synth sounds, post-punk guitars, and vocals that sound like they’re coming from the next room in the best of ways.

Also, Angel Olsen’s album “My Woman” and Devendra Banhart’s new album “Ape in Pink Marble” are two wonderful releases.

What’s new in New Recurrents? Out of the many new adds, here are two:

Boyscott –  Goose Bumps: Beautiful album from a really neat Nashville based group. If you like the sounds of Youth Lagoon, twinkly melodies, and the overall feeling of being at a summer camp then check out this release.

SeepeopleS – Love: New EP from this Maine based four-piece band. They deliver 5 songs of layered indie rock with similar production elements that you might find when listening to The Flaming Lips.
