A St. Cloud resident was arrested on Friday evening for assaulting an officer. 25-year-old Codey James Weitzel was arrested after the St. Cloud Police responded to an assault complaint. When the officers met with Weitzel he began fighting with the officers and kicked one of them in the chest several times.

He was arrested and transported to the St. Cloud hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Weitzel will be held at the Stearns County jail for obstructing the legal process, misdemeanor 5th degree assault, and 4th degree assault.
