St. Cloud State is mourning the loss of one of its own today. Professor of Human Relations and Multicultural Education, Dr. Michael Tripp, was announced dead on Friday June 1st.

Dr. Tripp was born in January 1950 and was the seventh of twelve children. He received his Ph.D. from the University of California Berkley in 1981. Dr. Tripp joined the SCSU faculty in 1992 in the Department of Human Relations and Multicultural Education as an Associate Professor.

In 2011 Dr. Tripp was awarded full Professorship for his long service to the college. For the University faculty, staff, and community there are plans for a memorial service on Thursday, June 7th in the Atwood Memorial Center.  The service will happen in the Cascade room from 3 to 5 p.m.
