Archived: Severe Weather Expected Today

Severe weather is expected in the local area throughout the day today. Meteorology Professor Bob Weisman says the St. Cloud area should expect showers and thunderstorms in the morning, which could bring rain and hail up to nickel size.

A second wave of storms will develop in the mid to late afternoon across central and southwestern Minnesota. These storms will have the potential of producing large hail and straight line damaging winds. The storms are expected to move into the Twin Cities area this evening, but central Minnesota will still see strong winds. Keep up with all the local updates here.
