Archived: Husky Re-Cycle Program Launches

In 2004, SCSU Outdoor Endeavors implemented the Yellow Bike Program which was a bike sharing program. As the program grew, Outdoor Endeavors wanted a way to improve the program without increasing expenses and the amount of utilization of the community bikes.

In the Fall Semester of 2011 students for their ETS 456 Senior project took on the task of re-shaping the bike programs on campus. The new program will be starting this month at Lawrence Hall. A black bike rack will have all red bikes on it available for students to check out. The bike rack will be monitored by students working at the front desk in Lawrence Hall.

The Husky Re-Cycle program is designed to give those students living on campus the opportunity to use free alternative transportation without having to purchase something personally.  Outdoor Endeavors relies heavily on bicycle donations in order to keep the cost of student bike repairs at a low price point.  If you have a gently used bike you are not using, consider donating them to SCSU Outdoor Endeavors.
