A St. Cloud day care provider is in jail after he allegedly abused two small children Tuesday morning. St. Cloud Police received several calls about a man physically abusing two children in the 2400 block of West Division Street around 10:40 a.m.

A police investigation found the man was walking with the children when he used force to restrain them. Police identified the man as 67-year-old Waldamar Joseph Tischner of St. Cloud. Tischner was taken to the Stearns County Jail and is facing charges of felony malicious punishment of a child.

The children received non-life threatening injuries and were released from the St. Cloud Hospital. The State of Minnesota is in the process of temporarily suspending Tischner’s day care license.
