Two people are facing charges after police break up a domestic assault in progress Tuesday night. St. Cloud Police were called to the 800 block of 9th Avenue North at 10 p.m. for a domestic in progress.

Police say 34-year-old Steven Turman of St. Cloud assaulted 35-year-old Aisha Stephens of St. Cloud. Stephens received minor injuries that did not require immediate medical attention. While officers were trying to calm down the situation, police say Stephens assaulted Turman.

Stephens is being charged with misdemeanor domestic assault while Turman is facing felony domestic assault due to his prior convictions of similar offenses. Turman is being held in the Stearns County Jail awaiting a court appearance.
