A 20-year-old Albany man was arrested for breaking into the home of an acquaintance and threatening to kill her. It happened just after 8:00 Monday night on the 900 block of 8th Avenue South. St. Cloud Police say the 32-year-old victim from St. Cloud reported the man broke into her home through the door using a mallet, and threatened to kill her. She was not injured.

The suspect, 20-year-old Zachary Perowitz of Albany, left before police arrived, but police eventually found him in a car and arrested him. Perowitz was brought to the Stearns County Jail where he is being held on charges of burglary, assault, terroristic threats, and criminal damage to property.
