A 24-year-old man is injured after being stabbed by 21-year-old woman early Tuesday morning in southwestern Stearns County. Shortly after 1:00 am, the Sheriff’s Office got a call that someone was being assaulted in an Eden Valley home. Officials say while they were on their way to the home, a second call came in that a person had been stabbed at the same home.

When deputies arrived they found 24-year-old Shawn Murphy of Eden Valley lying outside the home with a stab wound to the left of his chest. The Sheriff’s Department says Murphy was assaulting 21-year-old Sara Smith, also of Eden Valley, when she stabbed Murphy with a knife. Murphy was brought to the hospital and has since been released. He was arrested for domestic assault, while Smith was arrested for 2nd degree assault. Both are being held in the Stearns County Jail.
