A 27-year-old St. Cloud man is in jail after allegedly fleeing officers and refusing to take sobriety tests in eastern Stearns County. It happened at about 10:30 am Tuesday in Rockville, on County Road 130 near 1st Street West. The Stearns County Sheriff’s Department says they responded to a driving complaint. When they arrived in the area, they found a car stopped at the entrance of a Rockville cemetery. When deputies tried to make contact with the driver, he drove around them and drove off. The Sheriff’s Department says when the driver tried to make a left turn; he lost control and ran into a tree.

The driver was identified as John Robert Post. Police say he refused to take sobriety and chemical tests. Post was taken to the Stearns County Jail where he is awaiting charges of fleeing an officer, refusing to take a sobriety test, DWI, and open bottle violation.
