Archived: Annandale Man Drowns Sunday While Fishing

A 56-year-old fisherman has died after apparently falling into a lake and being pulled through a culvert in central Minnesota. The Meeker County sheriff’s office says 56-year-old Patrick Lynch of Annandale was found floating in water near a county road on Sunday, July 24. Rescuers brought Lynch to shore where he was pronounced dead.

Lynch’s brother told deputies he had picked his brother up from his group home in Annandale and drove them to Big Swan Lake to fish alongside the road.

When the brother couldn’t find Lynch, he began searching and found him floating in flooded Collinwood Creek. The sheriff’s office says Patrick Lynch apparently fell into the lake and was swept through a large culvert under the road and into the creek on the other side.

His death remains under investigation.
