An early morning fire in Greenwald has destroyed a barn. The fire occurred at 57 year old Robert Nietfeld’s farm just before 5 A.M. Wednesday. Fire departments from Melrose, Freeport and Sauk Centre responded to the scene. While the barn was a total loss, Nietfeld was able to save most of the cattle from the blaze. According to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, an electric heater may be at fault for the fire.
