Archived: Benton County Sheriff’s Schedule Event

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Sauk Rapids and Rice Police Departments will be participating in the DEA National Take Back Initiative on Saturday, April 28th. The program addresses the vital public safety and public health issue of proper disposal of unused or unwanted prescription medications.

The program also allows citizens to turn in their unused or unwanted prescription medications anonymously and free of charge. The goal of the collection is to ensure that the medications will not fall into the hands of someone who may abuse the medications and that they will be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.

Collection locations will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 28th in Foley at the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.  In Sauk Rapids at the Sauk Rapids Police Department as well as in Rice at the Rice City Hall

Syringes, needles and other sharps will not be accepted at these collection points.
