Archived: Campus Building Evacuated Monday Night
A university building was evacuated Monday night due to smoke coming from a microwave oven. Building 51, the former Business Building at St. Cloud State University, was evacuated around 5:00 p.m.
According to a university spokeswoman, three St. Cloud fire trucks were called to the Building 51. It was determined the cause was burned food in a microwave, sending smoke throughout the building in the ventilation system. The smoke cleared and damage was limited to the microwave. No injuries were reported in the incident that happened as night classes were starting.
