Two people were brought to the hospital Monday night after their car veered off the road and hit a tree.  Officers investigating the scene found that just after 10:30 p.m. the 17-year-old female driver from Rice had been traveling eastbound on West Lake Road in Watab Township.

The Benton County Sheriff says the driver missed a curve in the road, leaving the roadway and hitting a tree.  The driver and her passenger, 27-year-old Glenn Durham, also of Rice, were taken to the St. Cloud Hospital for serious but non-life threatening injuries. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office suspect alcohol was involved in the crash and the investigation is ongoing.
