Archived: Carl Gawboy To Speak At SCSU

Retired professor and accomplished artist Carl Gawboy will be speaking at an event on traditional Native American views of astronomy at St. Cloud State University titled The Wintermaker and Other Star Legends. The presentation will take place Tuesday December 6th at 7:00 p.m. in the Cascade Room of Atwood Memorial Center and is free and open to the public.

Gawboy is an enrolled member of the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa and taught at the College of St. Scholastica for many years as a professor of American Indian studies and as coordinator of the school’s Ojibwe language program. The event is being sponsored by St. Cloud State’s Department of Chemistry and Physics and American Indian Center.
