Archived: Case Hill Renovations Close a Block of 3rd Avenue South
The renovations to Case-Hill Residence Halls on the campus of St. Cloud State University will be closing a block of 3rd Avenue South from 5th to 6th Street south. The City Engineer’s office says the road will close starting Monday, May 14th and is expected to be closed for about one week. Detours will be posted.
The Case-Hill Residence Halls renovation is a $12.2 million project that started in January 2012. The renovations are aimed to increase the accessibility of the building for students with mobility-impairments. The upgrades include wider doorways, refuge areas, and other safety upgrades. Also in the renovations are entire upgrades to the plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems. The Case-Hill Residence hall is expected to be open in time for the fall 2012 semester.
