Archived: Clara’s House Receives a $1 Million Dollar Donation To Start Expansion
The CentraCare Health Foundation has received a donation of $1 million dollars to expand Clara’s House, a service of the St. Cloud Hospital’s behavioral services. Clara’s House is a place where adolescents with mental health or chemical dependency can go to heal in an accepting environment. Each of the youths and their families are given hope through the programs and services received at Clara’s House. The donation was made by Mae Ellingston-Skalicky who says Clara’s House was named in honor of her mother who spent her life caring for children. In order to reduce the patient waiting list and enhance therapeutic services, the St. Cloud Hospital needs to build a seven-thousand square feet addition to Clara’s House. However, to start expanding, $700-thousand additional dollars must be raised first.
