Archived: Click it or Ticket Nets Nearly 500 Citations
The St. Cloud Police Department recently participated in the “Click It or Ticket” effort, resulting in 484 seat belt citations statewide. More than 400 law enforcement agencies statewide participated in the enforcement effort aimed at increasing seat belt use among motorists.
Each year unbelted motorists account for more than half of all vehicle occupants killed. Belt use is especially poor among teens and young adults, with motorists ages 15-29 accounting for 45 percent of all unbelted deaths.
