Thirty-eight-year-old Jesse Kern says he did not see any brake lights or turn signals when he crashed into a Chevrolet Equinox on Sunday. 

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office reports seventeen-year-old Kjerstin Campbell was driving eastbound on County Road 2 when she was attempting to make a left-hand turn onto Island Lake Road.  Kern then struck Campbell due to the sun obstructing his vision.

53-year-old Jacqueline Campbell and fifteen-year-old Claire Campbell were passengers in the Equinox and Claire Campbell was taken by Mayo Ambulance to the St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.  

Authorities believe alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
