Archived: Coldest Air Of The Year Expected Soon

SCSU professor Bob Weisman’s latest report says the entire Minnesota area is under a wind chill advisory until 9 a.m. tomorrow (Friday) morning. The coldest air we’ve gotten this winter is currently making its way to central Minnesota and will come in at speeds of 20-30 MPH with wind chills in the range of -25 to -35. We may also have low visibility and icy spots due to blown snow across the roads. Weisman’s report also says that by late evening the winds will ease up however the temperature will drop to the minus teens. Although the biggest part of the cold air will pass us by tomorrow (Friday) the high temperatures will only get up to the lower teens over the weekend. We are also expected to get some light snow that may become flurries by tomorrow (Friday) evening.
