Archived: Daughters Of Africa To Be Shown In Atwood Theatre
To celebrate the birthday of one of the country’s most inspiring minds, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Multicultural Student Services is proud to present “Daughters of Africa”, the production will be shown at SCSU’s Atwood Theatre Thursday (today) at 2 p.m., is about 50 minutes long and is free and open to all. “Daughters of Africa” is a historic musical journey depicting the triumphs of African American women. The production will feature Tomasina Petrus, whose amazing solo performance continues to thrill audiences. It will include a variety of songs from such artists as Lena Horne, Aretha Franklin, Queen Latifah as well as others. This production presents a striking collection of profiles of women both celebrated and forgotten throughout history.
