Archived: DB Searle’s Has New Owners: Their Neighbors!

The owners of Pioneer Place on Fifth are expanding their enterprises in St. Cloud’s historic downtown area.

Brothers Dan and Mark Barth, along with Mark’s sons Andy and Nick, announced the purchase of both the adjoining 18 building, and D.B. Searle’s Restaurant and Bar Tuesday.

The Barths are planning notable changes to the restaurant located on the third and fourth floors, and plan to have a menu with local flavors and comfort food as well as local craft beers.

The second floor of D.B.’s will become the Mezzanine, which will cater to banquets and private events.  Dan Barth says they plan to re-brand the restaurant on the third and fourth floors to Nick’s Third Floor at D.B. Searle’s. Nick Barth will be the food and beverage manager.  The main floor will continue to serve as a pub for the happy hour and late night college crowd and community.

The D.B. Searle’s building was constructed in 1886, and has housed everything from a Masonic Lodge to the Pan Motor Company offices, and Colbert Funeral Home to Solva Piano Tuning and Repair. The bar opened in 1978 under the current name, which the new owners say they are proud to continue its downtown legacy.
