The first annual Zapp Historian award will be presented to its namesake, Ed Zapp on Wednesday, April 18th.

The award will be presented during the Stearns History Museum and Research Center’s 1st Annual Fundraiser which will be held at the College of St. Benedict, St. Joseph. Zapp was the Museum’s president from 1974-1985 and was a driving force in the reviving and sustaining the Stearns County Historical Society.

His energetic leadership led to the construction of a state-of-the-art history museum in 1984 which is now the only nationally accredited history museum in greater Minnesota. The award is the first to be presented to a person or an organization that has contributed significantly to the awareness and preservation of community history and culture.
