Archived: Eddy Signs With Calgary Flames

The St. Cloud State Men’s Hockey team has lost another forward. Junior winger David Eddy will forego his senior year of eligibility at SCSU to sign with the Calgary Flames of the NHL. The deal was announced Tuesday, and is a two-year, two-way contract.

Eddy is the third Husky forward to leave the team this season prior to their elligability expiring. Earlier this season sophomore forwards Cam Reid and Mitch MacMillan both departed SCSU. Reid went to play with Portland of the WHL and MacMillan transferred to North Dakota.

Eddy scored 30 goals and added 35 assists in 92 games for the Huskies over three seasons. The Woodbury, Minnesota native will be assisgned to Calgary’s AHL affilate, the Abbotsford Heat, for the remainder of their season. He will wear number 24 for the Heat.
