Republican Congressman (Minn. 6) Tom Emmer voted against two articles of impeachment late last night (12/18/19) against President Donald Trump.

The two article impeachments read one account of abuse of power and one account of obstruction of congress. Impeachment Article 1 Abuse of Power passed the house 229b votes for yes to 195 votes for no. Article 2 Obstruction of Congress passed 228 yes to 195 No. No Republicans voted for either article of impeachment.

Republicans Pete Sauber, Minnesota District 8 and Jim Hagedorn, Minnesota District 1 also voted against both articles of impeachment. Democrat Congressman Collin Peterson, Minnesota District 7 was one of three Democrats to vote against articles of impeachment.

The office of Tom Emmer did not respond to request for comment. Congressman Emmer represents Central Minnesota, including St. Cloud and the highway 10 corridor.
