Travel Photo Exhibit at Stearns History Museum

St. Cloud native Lois Whitney Forbes was a well-seasoned traveler and photographer who navigated the globe, taking pictures and documenting cultures. The Minnesota Black Fine Art Show is now on  display at Gallery St. Germain in downtown St. Cloud. The exhibition brings together 10 black artists from across Minnesota for a journey through art mediums and messages in the 2019-2020 Minnesota Black Fine Art Show. The show is an unprecedented collaboration between art galleries in Austin, Mankato, St. Cloud, Minneapolis and Duluth. You can learn how to make woodland pottery in a two-day workshop at the Mille Lacs Indian Museum. Participants will learn how to dig clay, harvest the tempering agents, and construct a clay vessel. Kids Can Craft and Ojibewe-Style Shoulder Bag at Mille Lacs Indian Museum

The Mille Lacs Indian Museum in Onamia is inviting kids to learn how to decorate an Ojibwe-style shoulder bag to take home. Shoulder bags are a simpler version of the Ojibwe bandolier bag. Traditionally worn by men, the bandolier bag is an ornately decorated shoulder bag used for both decoration and function.
