Archived: Extreme Cold, then Warmer Weekend

Expect face peeling weather through Wednesday night and into Thursday, but SCSU Meteorology Professor Bob Weisman says there is a light at the end of the tunnel. With winds traveling up to 15 miles per hour for most of Wednesday, the wind chill could get as cold as -35 in central Minnesota. But things will likely warm up beginning Thursday night. From Thursday night into the weekend, low temperatures will be in the plus teens. Weisman says temperatures will make a run at 30 on Friday and Saturday. But winter isn’t anywhere close to being over. Weisman says another blast of cold air looks to arrive in central Minnesota early next week.
