Archived: Fire in Cold Spring Caused by Clothes Dryer

A fire broke out Sunday afternoon at a home southwest of Cold Spring. Around 1:30 p.m. the Chain of Lakes Fire Department, the Cold Spring Fire Department and the Stearns County Police were called to a house fire at 195th Street in Richmond.

The homeowner said that the fire had started in the clothes dryer and that she attempted to put it out with a fire extinguisher, which was unsuccessful. The homeowner then got her children and dogs out of the house and no one was injured.

The homeowner was treated on scene for smoke inhalation but did not go to the hospital. There was only minor damage to the home, mainly in the laundry room.
