The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for much of the central and southern Minnesota area. The watch includes St. Cloud, Little Falls, Willmar, the Twin Cities Metro, Granite Falls, Redwood Falls, Mankato, New Ulm, Worthington and Jackson.

These areas could see 1 to 3 inches of rain today through tomorrow morning. The watch is issued until 1 p.m. tomorrow. There may be a possibility of storms containing large hail and damaging winds late this afternoon into tonight, however the main threat will be the flooding. Flash flooding is possible near rivers with low-lying rural and urban areas also in danger of flooding.
