Archived: Football Rolls Over Golden Bears, 35-10

The St. Cloud State football team found themselves in the win column for the first time in 2010 Saturday as they rolled to a 35-10 victory over Concordia St. Paul at Sea Foam Stadium.
Coming off a record week, senior wide receiver Fred Williams again went on a tear, scoring two touchdowns and making seven receptions for 165 yards. Williams wasn’t the only receiver in on the action, as sophomore Tyler Allery also scored twice, opening the game with a 75-yard reception for a touchdown. First year quarterback Phillip Klaphake threw for over 300 yards for the second straight week and added four touchdowns through the air.
With the win, the Huskies improve to 1-1 on the season heading into their home opener next week against Winona. That game is Saturday at Husky Stadium at 6 P.M. It’s a Red Out, and the first 500 students through the gates get a free T-shirt.
