Archived: Football Tops Moorhead, Earns Home NCAA Playoff Game

The St. Cloud State Football team beat Minnesota State-Moorhead 47-14 Saturday in the Huskies last regular season game at Husky Stadium.

Michael Walker scored three rushing touchdowns for SCSU, giving him a team-leading fourteen scores on the season. In fact, the Huskies offense as a whole outgained Moorhead 435 yards to just two-hundred-and-six for the Dragons. Also of note, St. Cloud scored touchdowns on their first four possessions and seven of their first eight.

With the win the Huskies earned a first-round home playoff game on November 19th against Wayne State University (Michigan) -and you can listen to that game right here on KVSC.

The Huskies needed help from other teams in their “Super-Regional” to earn the first round home game, and they got it when Wayne State lost to Findlay and Saginaw Valley also lost.

Our coverage will begin at 11:45 Saturday morning, with kickoff scheduled for noon. Dave Overlund will have the call.
