The St. Cloud City Council has selected its newest member to fill the vacant seat left by State Senator-elect John Pederson. Former St. Cloud City Council member Jeff Goerger will take over for Pederson’s at large seat next. He beat out the three other men who applied for the seat in a six to one vote. Goerger served one term for the city council before being defeated by Sonja Berg in 2008. Goerger has been on the city’s planning commission since 2009.
