Archived: Four Candidates File Paperwork in 6th District Race

Four candidates have filed paperwork to run for Minnesota’s 6th District seat in congress. On Tuesday, Dr. Maureen Reed of Grant, Minnesota made it official, even though she didn’t win the endorsement from the Democratic Party. She will face off against the endorsed candidate, Sen. Tarryl Clark of St. Cloud, in a primary election on August 10th. Clark filed her paperwork Thursday. Both Clark and Reed are vying to unseat Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann, who filed paperwork Monday to run for a third term in the 6th District. Through March, all three candidates had each raised more than $1 million. Independence Party candidate Bob Anderson is also in the race.
