The Stearns County Soil and Water Conservation District will offer a free nitrate water-testing clinic. The testing will be available next Thursday, June 9th from 4 until 7 p.m. in the atrium of Marketplace mall in Waite Park. To participate in the testing, homeowners must bring at least half a cup of water in a clean glass or plastic container. Officials say samples should be taken no more than 24 hours before the testing and should be cool when they arrive. The process takes less than five minutes and is done when the sample arrives. Results are given directly to the homeowner. Samples can also be dropped off at the clinic between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. for those unavailable during normal clinic hours.
