Archived: German-based Farm Equipment Manufacturer Announces Expansion Into St. Cloud

A German-based farm implement manufacturer announced its plan for expansion into the St. Cloud area Tuesday morning. Geringhoff Manufacturing and Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation are held a press conference Tuesday at the former facilities of Donlin Company located at 3405 East Energy Drive.

Geringhoff expects its $20 million plant will employ about 100 people. The 132-year company evaluated 40 U.S. factories before deciding on the former Donlin Company building.

The state will provide Geringhoff with a $500,000 loan. Geringhoff CEO Daniel Hansmeier says St. Cloud will be a foundation to create an even larger presence across North America.

Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton is spoke at the event, along with St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis, and Geringhoff executives.

The German-based company was established 1880 in Germany and specializes in harvesting equipment.
